William W. Wood, Jr. is an Operations Consultant at SW Private Wealth with more than 35 years of experience in public accounting and financial services.

After earning a bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University, Bill was commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Army, where he served as a lieutenant colonel and medical logistics officer, and completed tours in Vietnam, Germany, and Iran. To improve his skills, Bill went on to earn a Master of Science in Business Administration from Boston University.

Prior to joining SW Private Wealth, Bill accrued 35 years of experience as a CPA including 15 years as a Wealth Advisor. He worked as a partner in a regional public accounting firm, and a Wealth Advisor and Chief Compliance Officer of an independent Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) firm where he oversaw regulatory compliance with fiduciary standards. His tax background helped him take a deeper dive into the planning process, particularly with tax planning.

Dedicated to a client-centered approach and drawing on his extensive industry experience, Bill works closely with Annette to focus on putting clients’ needs first.

On a personal note

Outside of the office, Bill enjoys spending time with his family. A member of the Mensa International Society, he also enjoys the challenge of puzzles. This has led Bill to restore and maintain vintage Audis – he finds the German overengineering and complexity very interesting. Bill is also interested in studying quantum mechanics and particle physics, subjects he misses from his undergraduate studies. He doesn’t expect to come up with the theory of everything or unite general relativity with quantum gravity, but still finds it fascinating.
